Crew Profile

My name is Karolína Jansová, I am a set designer and artist and I will now graduate from BFH HKB MA Expanded Theater. As an interdisciplinary artist who deals with theatrical art, performances, costumes, masks, puppets and installations, I work on various projects primarily as a distinctive and specific aesthetics of visual performance. I am currently working on my final master's project and I would like to continue to use this opportunity as a support to start my career in Switzerland and smoothly start my future as an artist and use this support to create my next solo project and life needs as an artist. As part of my studies, I created life-size puppets that have a strong visual and now play the role of acting partner and part of the performance in my work. These mannequins were created on the basis of copying my own character. 

I am a very versatile and hands-on person who crosses several artistic disciplines, and since childhood I grew up in an artistic family where photography, sewing, ceramics and other types of painting, drawing and art techniques were part of everyday life. I am a lover of handmade items, so my work focuses mainly on sustainable scenography, reuse, collecting objects and surplus materials and turning them into objects and props. <3
