During  the 10 episode series, we see  the true story of true of  John Paul Getty life, as it unfolds.
The episodes filmed in Calabria describe the nightmarish experience of the young boy who falls into the hands of the Ndrangheta. During his abduction, he'll be moved around to one mountain hideout to the other. The Calabrian set included some locations at the foot of Mount Pollino, especially and the interventions of the scenogfaphers consisted generally in adaptations of existing outdoor enviroments, to fit in and to adapted to the needs and descriptions of the references of the time, early 70 ties, when the events actually took place.

An entire castle was adapted as the mansion of Count Dracula, the castle of Montalto d'Ola. The types of interventions done were, painting all the walls white adding additional architectural elements, and eliminating all anachronisms.Outside the castle, a cemetery with an entrance to a crypt, and a train station with a huge bluescreen in the backround, were made. In order to make some of the totally rebuilt settings such as, the entrance to the crypt with tombs, and the mental hospital of Carfax 30 meters long, a disused factory in Bella, was readapted as decoration department.

This short documentary film shows how 300 immigrants, who had debarked on the Ionic side of Italy, were welcomed by the local Calabrian communities of the so-called ghost towns or shrinking cities in the Locride.
