[Closed] STORYBOARD ARTIST SENIOR
Collaborates with the Director and Animation Director to interpret the written description of the film
and to translate story ideas into visual sequences.
Works closely with the Directors and Head of Story, to convey the essence of the story, scene structure, and character emotion, create action and humor in alignment with the direction of the film. Help to create three-dimensional characters that will resonate with the audience.
Plan cinematography and staging; choosing initial camera placement and angles; defining action and camera movement. Help to solve story and structure problems. Follow and strengthen the character arcs throughout the film.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment – under tight deadlines.
• Minimum of 3 years experience working within a film 2D and/or CG Animation Feature pre-production pipeline – as a story artist.
• Ability to work digitally, including Photoshop, Storyboard Pro or similar software.
• Ability to create action and humor expressed through drawing.
• Adaptability/Flexibility of style.
• Expert knowledge of human anatomy and physical dynamics.
• Strong understanding of cinematic scene and dramatic structure.
• Must have extensive understanding of composition, architecture (interior and exterior perspective), lighting, camera and lenses.
• College degree(s) related in the area of Art / Painting / Illustration is preferred.
Based near Lille (FR), or in Brussels (BE).
